"There is no choice,
I belong to your life"
Gigi D'Agostino - L'Amour Toujours
This cover might have been one of the most difficult to create. I wanted to merge in it Turin, Gigi’s music and his character. All of that while still being a bit trashy.
So i started from the Baroque. First of all because Turin is a “Baroque City” thanks to architects like Guarino Guarini and Filippo Juvarra. And secondly because of the description of Baroque itself: “artistic style which used exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail to produce drama, tension, exuberance”. I mean this is a perfect description of Gigi’s Music ;).
So I found this illustration of the letter G, painted in the mid-1600s by the Polish goldsmith, Jan Christian Bierpfaff. It’s a part of his organic alphabet that blends the newly discovered shell patterns with grotesque botanical styling.
